Thoughts

Sometimes I think about life
Watching the second hand tick by
Time may be eternal
But not mortality, not I

The thoughts that I have in this time
Could all just go to waste
If not for paper and pen
Easy to forget these thoughts in haste

These thoughts are now left for time to see
If for nobody else, then at least for me
To recollect and remind me
Of the man that I once used to be

Clearly legible on paper
Thoughts in time from my mind
I cannot take them with me
But I can leave them behind
